Janice Kurth discussed RI Foundation with Grants & Recognition

Past District 5340 Governor 2015-2016 Ms Kurth, who is a Rotarian with the Del Mar Club, brought RI Foundation information to our club. When Rotarians give to the Annual Fund – SHARE, the Rotary Foundation disperses the funds to projects in the form of grants. District Grants help complete small-scale, short-term projects aligned with the Foundation’s mission. Global Grants, supporting long-term projects, have sustainable, measurable outcomes that further the Foundation’s Areas of Focus. The recent COVID grants supported recovery efforts and are known as Disaster Response Grants. Ms. Kurth provided statistics and fund amounts for Grants.

She also discussed Individual and Club Recognition. To start off this topic, Paula received her first Paul Harris Fellow. Of course, our club cheered! Individual recognition includes Sustaining Members giving $100+  yearly, Paul Harris fellows gaining 1000+ recognition points through donations, and the Paul Harris Society members contributing $1,000+ each year. Club Recognition includes the following100% Foundation Giving Club; Every Rotarian, Every Year Club, 100% Paul Harris Fellow Club and 100% Paul Harris Society Club.

One final slide, covering the Top Three Clubs in Rotary Direct Giving, showed that we are the top club in Rotary Direct Giving for 2020-2021!  Our club cheered again!  A banner should be coming our way very soon!
