Last Friday, District Governor Marta Knight celebrated as Rotarian Don Weeks (upper left) talked about making masks for the community.

At the Rotary Zoom COVID-19 Grant Celebration last week, District Governor Marta Knight opened the microphones for attendees to share their usage of the COVID-19 Grants. Rotarian Don Weeks talked about contracting with Fallbrook’s Manor Cleaners to sew masks. 127 West Social House, Major Market and the Regency received the face coverings. The District Governor was excited that we provided masks to our community partners: our meeting location  and the grocery store that donates food to our fundraisers.

There were several unique activities. One club provided chicken and rice meals for Lusen, Italy. Another club picked several groves of fruit for delivery to food banks. Rotarian-owned Sculpt Nouveau paint made hand sanitizer. Using their COVID-19 grant, a group of rotarians replaced elastic in face masks. Over $100,000 was spent by Rotary. This is how the matching grant funding was spent: $44,941 to fight hunger, $11,050 for personal protection, and $3,000 on student supplies.
