Game to Remember: Why are We Rotarians?

To kick-off to new year, President Jen gave a brief and overdue "Who am I?" Then, she challenged Rotarians to name the reasons they joined the club.

  • Everyone wanted to do projects together as a service to the community.
  • Multiple people said working with like-minded individuals who were grateful for giving. It was the camaraderie!
  • Some enjoyed international projects while others appreciated getting actively involved to meet Fallbrookians.
  • Family seemed to be common sponsors who mentored new Rotarians.
    • George had an uncle who in a club for over 30 years.
    • Don had an uncle who was a bank manager in Fallbrook.
    • For Erica, it was a grandpa who inspired her to join a club.
  • One Rotarian, who was pulled in by her neighbors and became excited finding an “anchor” to the community.
  • Rotarians who help other Rotarians was a big one.
  • Game Nights and Demotion Parties are always fun.
  • Specific projects became hot topics
    • Now & Ben Reading is Mike’s favorite project!
    • Miss & Teen Fallbrook Pageant is Sherri’s passion!
    • Hands-On House Building in TJ is special to Nick!
All-in-all, it was an opportunity to be unselfish and give back to others —- like a Good Samaritan! Remembering why are part of this special club will keep us moving forward to the coming year.

Fortunately, everyone had excellent reasons for being in the club. Otherwise, President Jen had secret and evil plans to pull out the hidden box of red herrings! Whew!
