A Squadron Leader has wise words for the hardworking students!

After the usual opening ceremonies, the microphone travelled around the room for audience members to introduce themselves. One Marine Aviation Logistics Squadron 39 (MALS) leader had something to say! The attendees chuckled as she announced, “Clearly I wasn’t focused on on studies when I was your age!” She currently manages a team maintaining aircraft and aeronautical equipment.  She said -

Focus on what's In front of you and leave the rest behind. Keep your eye on Christ.

The audience burst into applause!

Does this student look familiar? She was the 2022 Miss Teen Second Princess! Jasmine was always smiling online during the COVID school days. Her Oasis teacher, Kevin Kent, called her a high achiever who excels in multiple sports while maintaining a 4.1. During COVID, she learned she could excel on her own so she chose Oasis High School.  She plans to play La Crosse at George Fox University.

Everly, who is a quiet student, shined as a class leader as she helps others in Chemistry class. She is also an FFA officer who won the  equine management award two years in a row. In ROTC, she is a Sergeant over 309 enlisted personnel. Her family said that she is up a 5 a.m. and comes home to sleep at 7 p.m. - - - sometimes with her dinner burrito in her hand! She wants to attend Oregon or Washington State University and volunteer at the National Guard to learn more about aviation.

While Ricardo may be quiet, he asked the best questions. His nominating teacher, Alana Milton, said he challenges himself with AP and IB classes. Many teachers watched him mature over the years. Why did he decide to join the football team? He wanted to relax and wasn’t allowed to skateboard! He is taking his time to consider his college plans.

The family-oriented Anthony plays the piano several hours a day. It annoys his little brother! On a serious note, Anthony is well-known and highly organized as the academic team captain. He became #1 in both math and chemistry. He took every IB, AP and available college classes. He awaits acceptance to MIT to study Chemistry on his way to be a medical oncologist.

These students are truly amazing with a bright future! Congratulations to this month's winners!
